From other places in Greece
You can reach Alonissos throughout the year as there are boat/hydrofoil schedules from Athens
(via the port of Aghios Konstantinos), and Volos.
In the mid and high season of summer, the island has also got boat connections to Thessaloniki and to Skyros
(the fourth and remotest member of the Sporades). In the peak season (ie July/August) there are usually connections
to other islands, although schedules vary from one season to the next, there is usually a once a week connection
from the Cyclades group of islands and from Crete and to and from Limnos.
From Abroad
(1) Via charter flight into Skiathos.
If you are travelling to Alonissos in the summer season, between May until October, then by far the easiest
and quickest route is via the airport of Skiathos, the neighbouring island to Alonissos and Skopelos which
has a small airport that receives charter flights from a variety of European countries (eg UK, Holland, Norway, Italy).
From Skiathos, you can connect to Alonissos by hydrofoil or ferry boat and, as the boat usually calls at the island of
Skopelos first, the journey time is approximately one hour and a half.
(2) Via other airports on the Greek mainland.
There are both scheduled and charter companies operating flights into Athens and Thessaloniki all year round from countries
all over the world. There are also charter flights into Volos airport from a few Northern European countries in the
summer season.

From Athens you will have a choice of two travel routes.
(1) By air.
From Athens International airport to Skiathos airport on a scheduled domestic flight operated by
Olympic Airlines and lasting 40 minutes. There is usually one flight per day from March to October and three flights
per week in the winter months. You would then take a ferry/hydrofoil from Skiathos to Alonissos.
(2) By coach to the port of Aghios Konstantinos.

Which is situated 260 kilometres North of Athens and, from there, by hydrofoil/catamaran/ferryboat to Alonissos.
The air conditioned coach service departs from the centre of Athens with a timetable which links directly with the
boat departure times. It takes approximately two and a half hours and there is usually a short stop midway for refreshments.
The hydrofoil/catamaran/ferryboat schedule frequency varies according to whether you are travelling in low,
mid or high season. All vessels are air conditioned and have toilet facilities. Journey time is three to five hours,
depending on the type of vessel.
